The Actual Phase of the Moon


In the night air there is the faint sound of drums,
with the smell of sage weaving around the High Priestess
as she begins her chanting. The Moon is full and her
Spirit Guides are present. The circle is about to be cast!

The High Priestess holds her hands high towards the Moon
and chants the invocations to the Earth Mother and Sky Father,
then slowly and powerfully she casts a circle of pure white light.

The High Priestess then welcomes the Spirit Guides to aid her in
her ritual. As she chants and dances around the Circle as they
offer their words of wisdom. They become one within the Circle
as she begins her prayer.

"In the name of Raven. In the name of Wolf. In the name of Whale.
In the name of Snake. Who have taught us. Who have guided us.
Who have sustained us. Who have healed us.

Please heal the animals.

In the name of Raven. In the name of Wolf. In the name of Whale.
In the name of Snake. Whom we have feared. Whom we have slaughtered.
Whom we have caged. Whom we have persecuted. Whom we have slandered.
Whom we have cursed. Whom we have tortured.

Please protect the animals.

In the name of the Raven. In the name of the Wolf. In the name of
the Whale. In the name of the Snake. Whose habitat we have stolen.
Whose territory we have plundered. Whose feeding grounds we have
paved or netted. Whose domain we have poisoned. Whose food we have
appropriated. Whose young we have killed. Whose lives and ways of
life we threaten.

Please restore the animals.

In the name of the Raven. In the name of the Wolf. In the name
of the Whale. In the name of the Snake. Forgive us. Have mercy.
May they return. Not as a resurrection, but as living beings,
here, on this Earth that is also theirs.

Oh Great Spirit. Please heal the animals. Please protect the animals.
Please restore the animals. So our lives may also be healed. So our
souls may also return. So our spirits may also be restored.

Oh Spirit of the Raven, Oh Spirit of the Wolf, oh Spirit of the Whale,
oh Spirit of the Snake. Teach us again, how to live".

The Moon shines on them giving them an eerie glow, transforming them
into ghost like figures. As the sound of the drums beat on louder and
louder, the High Priestess dances faster and faster, chanting stronger
and stronger, until you could feel the energy raised from the Circle.
Then all is quiet......

As the High Priestess wakes from her dreams, she notices she is all
alone. There is a quietness in the night air and all she has to light
her way is the Full Moon. Her Spirit Guides are gone, but she remembers
their words of wisdom and smiles while she sits under the Moon.
