WITCHY POEMS and STORIES!
I'M A WINDOW CLEANING WITCH!"
(written in 1991 for Circle Network News)
As I go on the balconies of *Ceasar's Regency, high above the
ground, I have an array of companions to watch me work! While I
transform dirt to shine I have bats watching curiously while
they hang from their toes, the laughing gulls who glide around
me playfully, the pidgeons that perch themselves on the ledges
as if they are inspecting my work! Even a Raven or two come
cackling at me as I work. While I wash the windows I see a
Daddy Longlegs spider has climbed upon my hand and seems to enjoy
the ride I give him as I whisk the water from the glass.
My favorites are the Moths, which come in many colors, shapes
and sizes. Along with my companions I also have the elements
to commune with! I have the Sea (water) below, the wind (air),
the Sun (fire) and Mother Earth all around me! I don't know if
the Lady and Lord will agree, but I don't need the forest and
flowers. I have the Earth, Sea, Sun and Wind!
As I move along, and my companions follow, I find time to
commune with the Wise Ones and thank them for a perfect day
and my many friends who watch me work! I don't think I would
change my job as a window cleaner, or my life as a Witch!
Together, as a Window Cleaning Witch, I have many treasures
to watch as I walk in the wind, on my ledges, high above the
ground. I am totally One with Nature, high in the sky!

OJO de DIOS
Eye of God
Symbolizing love, courage, beauty, wisdom, and happiness.
The Ojo is a symbol that embraces a long and rich historical
background. For hundreds of years the American and Mexican
Indians have created Ojo's to embody their prayers, hopes
and dreams. Through the Ages, many other civilizations have
used the Eye to bring good luck, protect the owner and his
possessions, or to serve as a ladder upon which a Spirit may
ascend to heaven. The eye, or pupil, is the black center
outlined in white. The surrounding colors express your wish....
green for love, blue for beauty, yellow for wisdom, and red
for courage. Ojo's lend their charm and color in many
different ways.
LIKE A MOUNTAIN
by Naomi Littlebear
Nobody can push back an ocean.
It's gonna rise back up in waves.
And nobody can stop the wind from blowin',
stop a mind from growin'.
Somebody may stop my voice from singing,
but the song will live on and on.
You can't kill the Spirit.
It's like a mountain,
old and strong;
it lives on and on.
Nobody can stop a woman from feelin',
That she has to rise up like the Sun.
Somebody may change the words we're sayin',
But the truth will live on and on.
You can't kill the Spirit.
It's like a mountain,
Old and strong;
It lives on and on.
The Wise Woman's Stone
A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a
precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another
traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her
bag to share her food.
The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the
woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation.
The traveler left rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew
the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to
the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said. "I know how
valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that
you can give me something even more precious. Give me what
you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone."
Sometimes it not the wealth you have but what's inside you
that others need.

FAIRIE BELIEF
(Written in 1991 for Circle Network News)
Silly as this may sound, the inspiration for this article came from
watching "Fern Gully" on our local "Disney Channel"! A simple children's
story made me believe again!
As a child I always believed there were Fairies around and I would often
imagine seeing them romping through our garden. I always believed that
the teeth put under the pillow were taken away by the "Tooth Fairie",
that Santa Claus was this magical elf that could be everywhere at one
time, and that the Easter Bunny was a magickal animal producing treats,
hidden of course, for good little children.
I guess I have never stopped believing! I had an insight early this morning
on true Fairie Magick. Maybe if the whole world could sit down and watch
something as simple as "Fern Gully", they might see the destruction that
we are causing to every living thing! I learned something this morning
and I find that the Fairies, "Crysta" and "Magi Luna", have always been
a part of my imagination.
"Crysta" showed one human that trees can feel pain. Wouldn't it be wonderful
if I, you, all of us could show this to everyone! The world is so different
now, not like it was when I was a child growing up in the country. My heart
aches when I see the destruction of Nature.
I long to see the squirrels and rabbits come back and all the beautiful birds.
It makes me sad as I walk with my companion, my best friend "Snoopy". I would
give anything to have the sense my dog has! Even she stops and listens to the
song of the one little chirping bird in our town. What has happended to all
the rest? "Our" bird seems so lonely, yet eager to greet us every morning
with an array of musical "hellos". As we walk he comes out and starts singing
and we stand there and watch him as he goes through his morning melodies.
Is this a message he is trying to spread? Just like the Fairies of "Fern Gully"?
As I study and explore the different aspects of Wicca and Nature, I believe I
am beginning to see what I believed in as a child! Yes, there is "magick"
everywhere and you just have to know where to find it! More and more each
day, my eyes are opening, my ears are listening, and my heart is being
filled with the magick around me once again! If only I could turn the
clock around and go back to when it was more beautiful!
But I am only one "magickal child", and the magick needs to be spread to
all! The ugliness and destruction needs to be turned to beauty once again.
We all forgot how to "stopand smell the roses!" Yes, dear Fairies, I do
believe you are the "guardians" of Nature and life itself does come from
one little "seed". Then why can't every human being in this world take a
seed and make the "life" grow again? Wouldn't it be beautiful....once again!

DO NOT JUDGE ME!
Do not judge me by the color of my skin, just because
it`s different from yours. No matter what color I may
be on the outside, inside I`m the same as
you.
Do not judge me by the style of clothes I choose to
wear. It is not the clothes a person wears that makes
them who or what they are.
Do not judge me by the company I keep just because
you may not approve of them. No matter what type of
crowd you may find me in, I am my own person, responsible
for my own actions.
Do not judge me by the places I go and the places
you don`t go. In my mind and heart it is better to go
where you want to be than a place where you don`t
want to be.
Do not judge me by what I drink nor the foods I
choose to eat. It is not what goes in through my
mouth, but what the heart allows to come out.
Do not judge me by the way I may act, just because
to you it may seem to be a bit strange. It`s just the
way the Great Spirit made me, and it`s the only way I
know how to be.
Do not judge me by the lifestyle I choose to live,
just because it`s far different from yours, because
as sure as the days are different from the nights
and the seasons are different from each other, I, too,
am different from you.
Do not judge me by my Religion, nor the way I choose
to worship, just because it`s different from yours. No
matter what Religion we choose, or how we may worship,
we all worship and serve the same Deity.
Do not judge me by what you have and what I don`t have,
because our blessings were not meant to be the same.
Do not judge or critize anyone, for there are no
perfect beings on Mother Earth. We all make mistakes
at some point and time in our lives. We should accept
people for who and what they are, regardless of how
different one may seem or be. We should all learn to
live and let live....love instead of hate....help each
other instead of hurting!
If you should ever get the urge to judge someone, I
suggest you stop....take a good, long look at yourself
and the life you`ve chosen to live, then ask yourself
one question, "Who am I to judge?"
However, once you`ve done this and you still feel you
have the RIGHT to judge others, let me be the first to
congratulate YOU for being PERFECT!

'Twas The Night Before Samhain
'Twas the night before Samhain and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for my spouse.
The incense, it burned in our cauldron so black, for Witchcraft and Magick we'd a wonderful knack.
The circle was drawn with the athame of power, the guardians were called to each quarter tower.
The Lord and Lady attended our rite, In wonder and glory and power and might.
The dearly departed came as our guest, To live once again, after their rest.
We bid them goodbye with a tear in our eye, such a lovely presence of loved ones so nigh.
The candles danced in the flickering light, With the Great Rite we bid them all a good night.
The guardians, thanked, have all sped away, The Lord and Lady, thanked for the day.
The night before Samhain, Gods bless this house, A circle of wonder 'round me and my spouse.

ARE YOU A REASON, A SEASON, OR A LIFETIME?
Pay attention to what you read. After you read this, you will know the reason it was sent to you! People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a
REASON
.... It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.
Then people come into your life for a
SEASON
. Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFETIME
relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
And dance like no one is watching.
Blessed Be!

"HELLO"
written for Dani
"Hello."
The wind is knocking at your door.
Answer it.
Let its fresh breath overwhelm you.
Smile to it.
It may smile back.
It may blow down the front of your shirt
and excite you for a moment.
Sing with it
and perhaps it will hum a spritely tune for you.
Blow it a kiss;
it may come back to you a hundred fold.
Take a walk with it
and listen to its melodies
whizzing past trees
and drifting into your mind.
Sleep with it.
Let the wind caress you,
enfold your limbs, carry you away
to a peaceful dream.
Bid it adieu
and know it will go away ---
only to come back in a while to say.....
"hello."
